What types of Hearing Aid are available?
The various types and styles of hearing aids can be overwhelming. Hearing aids come in many different shapes and sizes with different levels of technology. You should bear in mind that all these different technology levels, shapes and styles are designed for particular hearing losses and hearing abilities. Some of these may not be a suitable solution for your needs – that is where a consultation with our Audiologist will help to guide you to the correct products for you.
Here is a brief overview of different styles of hearing aid:

Rechargeable
No more fiddling with batteries, simply use the case to store them in at night and they will be ready for action in the morning.
Smartphone Compatible
Connect directly to your smartphone to take calls, stream music and much more.

Invisible In the Canal (IIC)
Custom made to rest in the second bend of the ear canal so it can barely be seen.
A receiver in Canal (RIC)
One of the most popular and discreet models – great for first-time users.


Completely in Canal (CIC)
Custom made to sit entirely within the ear so only the small removal tab is showing.
Behind the Ear (BTE)
Attaches to a clear component which is custom shaped to your ear. Available in mini, standard or power options.


In the Canal (ITC)
Custom made product that sits in the ear, only the faceplate can be seen.
In the Ear (ITE)
Custom made to fit in the ear but is secured by a portion in the outer ear.

Tinnitus Aids
To help give relief from persistent ringing or buzzing in the ears.
Single Sided Loss (CROS aids)
Send the sounds from your poor ear to your good ear to help you hear better and more fully.
